Week 2 Entrepreneurial Journal

What are you looking forward to achieving and experiencing?
I am looking forward to experiencing a life filled with love and happiness surrounded by my family. They are the reason I get out of bed, and they motivate me to become a better person.  I want to be my best for them.  I look forward to seeing them graduate, and go on missions, and attend college.  Temple marriage, and creating their own families!  This will be an amazing legacy and accomplishment.  I look forward to helping my husband set up his practice and manage it, while he improves the lives of his patients.
What did you learn from the readings and videos this week?
We shouldn't  let a brick wall stop us from achieving our goals. We can always find ways around roadblocks.   We should continue experimenting as long as it takes to get the results that we want.  I particularly enjoyed reading in The Ministry of Business book when he wrote about a husband and wife working together to achieve their goals in every aspect of life including their business and confiding to each other with everything.  Open lines of communication is essential.
Why do you think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams?
I love when he said that his parents allowed him to draw on his walls while he was growing up. He then said that we should allow our children that same luxury.
Do you feel that dreaming is important? Why or why not?
Dreaming is another way to manifest what calls you might have in your life. It is extremely important to dream because that is where we come up with the things that will enrich our lives.   With our dreams, my life may not be as meaningful as it is now.
Discuss at least one of your childhood dreams.  Do you believe you can or cannot achieve this dream?
My dream as a child was to live in the country on a few acres of land with my sister and have our own horses.  I have such a deep love for horses, and even though I couldn't have one as a child, I would draw them or go riding as often as I could.  When I was fourteen years old, I took a job as a stable hand just so I was able to ride the horses after my shift ended. However, this made me realize how expensive, as well as how much care it takes to keep horses.  I wouldn't have known that had I not been given the opportunity to take care of the horses.   As an adult, I have a dog and trying to find someone to watch her while we are out of town is hard enough. I can't imagine trying to find a horse sitter.  This is a dream I no longer want to fulfill.
