Week 7 Thoughts and Quotes

President Hinckley gave some great advice when he gave that talk way back in '96.  I was actually a senior in High School and this is the first time I believe I have ever read it.  It means a lot to me to know that even the prophet struggled some when he was a child.  If only I would have listened to his advice as I grew up and graduated, i believe there is so much I would have done differently.  At the time, I was just living my life for me instead of thinking of others as much as I should have. The book Mastery was another game changer book for me.  There were so many important skills that I am so grateful to take away from it.  Such as, the plateau is where I will learn the most.  Also, the person who is the master at something will always have room to grow more and learn much.  The seven habits summary was nice to read and I looked forward to reading it this week. Out of each of the habits I am most related with Habit 5: Seek first to unders...

Week 6 What I Am Learning and Quotes

Week 6 insights: The readings were so great and informative this week.  The Harvard paper was lengthy, but some of the information was really great.  Learning about the many ways one can create their own business venture.  Such as, taking a product and making it better.  Buying out an already existing venture and making it your own.  Starting a new venture from scratch, and creating a new venture based on a product that is new and being developed. I hope ...

What I Am Learning & Quotes

Reflect upon the things that you are learning and experiencing so far in this course. What are you looking forward to learning and experiencing? What did you learn from the readings and videos this week?  I have enjoyed learning this week about what it takes to be a great entrepreneur.  The book called Mastery, had made me a believer in the plateaus in our lives are when we learn and grow the most.  Some plateaus take longer than others to go through, but eventually, we will master that portion and continue to grow.  This was reiterated in the video "A Heroes Journey", he said, a"become great at something to succeed...find out what your gifts and callings are." Also, "learn how to learn."  Isn't that what we do in life anyways?  If we aren't learning anymore, then we definitely are no longer progressing.  If we can invest and find out what our true calling in life is, then we can hopefully turn that into a gift and job. I am looking forward to di...

Week 4 What I am Learning & Quotes

It's the last page of the Deconstructing Your Fears Experience PDF. If you pursue your calling with discipline, intentionality, and the help of fellow travelers, what are the chances that your worst case scenario will really happen? This week you will make your fourth journal entry/blog post. Reflect upon the things that you are learning and experiencing so far in this course. What are you looking forward to learning and experiencing? What did you learn from the readings and videos this week?  I would love to learn more about the daily tasks and managing my time better. I love you idea of productivity points and giving everything that day a purpose.  The first place I need to start is to get a physical planner, not just the kind that is on my phone. I want to write in it and look at it.  I've enjoyed learning how importa...
