What I Am Learning


My greatest accomplishment thus far in life is that of being a mom.  I have loved being there every step of the way while my children have grown and progressed into the wonderful kids they are today.   Being there to see them as they are figuring out their lives and reaching their potentials has brought me tremendous joy.  
I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom throughout their lives.  I guess you could say that seeing them succeed has taken over my identity.  I'm not sure I know how to be anything but a wife and a mom.
I am greatful for the opportunity this class will bring me as I will be able to find out who I am and discover my worth during this life.  Although I admit to being apprehensive, since change for me is hard to grasp.  I look forward to getting to know me better, especially by learning what I am all about.  Making goals and figuring out my gifts will be a journey in itself.  
I love the quote by Charles Noble that says, "First we make our habits, then our habits make us."  This quote will hopefully become my mantra as I learn better habits to lead me to a more fulfilled and enriched life.  Entrepreneurship is all about me finding my way into a career that I will be happy with, while making connections and network with people along the way.  I can do this!

Thoughts this week 8- The readings and videos were both really interesting this week, however, I particularly enjoyed the readings.  Elder Holland and President Monson both had excellent talks.  The point and greatest lesson I took away was perseverance in spite of what challenges life throws at us.   Taylor Richards in the video You Can Do Anything, says that we should keep moving forward and do the right things but always remember to involve the Lord. He also said don't ever under estimate yourself or the Lord. Week 13 Thoughts and Quotes

Thoughts: This weeks readings continue to solidify my stance on how we should balance or lives and the directions we need to go to make that happen.  What I’ve noticed from reading and watching the videos is figuring out where you are at in your life and the struggle to decide which direction is best to get you to where you want to be.  As always, making goals are a huge part of that.  Most of the advice I’ve noticed throughout the semester and especially this week in watching the videos is in regards to starting things out right out of college.  Most videos agree to start with an enterprise to get your feet wet before moving on to your life’s greatest desires.  They caution to make a job fun!  Don’t go into career knowing you are going to hate it but struggle to get through it for a few years.  You should take a job that matters to you and that you will enjoy. Week 6 What I Am Learning and Quotes

Week 6 insights: The readings were so great and informative this week.  The Harvard paper was lengthy, but some of the information was really great.  Learning about the many ways one can create their own business venture.  Such as, taking a product and making it better.  Buying out an already existing venture and making it your own.  Starting a new venture from scratch, and creating a new venture based on a product that is new and being developed. I have enjoyed reading the book, Mastery.  It makes me want to take Aikido.  The self discipline, determination, and skills necessary to succeed in becoming a master is intriguing.  Through practice and time, we can take our ventures and turn them into a masterpiece.  It is through repetition and striving to obtain the highest satisfaction that we can obtain greatness.  The only way to achieve a master status, is to remember that we need to continue and open ourselves up to learning.
